December 2019 Newsletter

A Quality Day care Where Play and Learning Come Together
The month of December is always a very busy month. It brings inner happiness and joy both for children and adult alike.
It is the month of Christmas, month of celebration and giving and doing little good things for others particularly those who are marginalized.  It is a time to think for those people and countries that are not at peace and are facing natural disaster.
YEAR-END CONCERT
As parents are aware that our concert/Christmas party will take place on Monday, December 9th at 3:30 pm after which children will enjoy watching age-appropriate magic shows. Children are getting ready for the concert and preparing songs to impress their parents.  We look forward and hope to see you all on Monday, December 9th.

ART IN THE CLASS:

Children will decorate a Christmas tree in the class. They will make handcrafted pieces of decoration items to hanging on the Christmas tree, Children will also draw, color and paint Santa’s sleigh, Red nose Reindeer etc.

PARENT CORNER – GRATITUDE AND GIVING
We are fortunate to live in North America where day to day life is happy, peaceful and without any kind of fears. This is the time for us to remember those people and countries that are going through rough turbulences of life.

I am happy to say that as part of our best practices and belief we, at Beyond Care make an effort to support and help needy children from around the globe. The name “Beyond Care” comes from our compassion for children who need a hand to move forward in life. Our commitment to sponsor their education until graduation. In this short span of time since 2017 Beyond Care has been able to sponsor 12 children from around the world.

To briefly explain how this sponsorship work is: when a new child is registered at Beyond Care, a portion of the child fees goes towards sponsoring a less privileged child from anywhere around the world. This means that our new registered child now has one sponsored kid somewhere in the world.  If you would like to know the details of ‘your child’s sponsored kid’, ask us for details. We do have all the information on each child that we have sponsored along with their pictures. You may bring one of the sponsored kid’s picture home to talk about him/her and through this means to develop and inculcate in your child the quality of gratitude and giving.

By bringing the picture home you are not taking any financial responsibility of the sponsored child. Beyond Care will continue to stand by its commitment to educate these children until graduation.  However, you do have a choice if you so wish to pledge one sponsor kid, please let us know and we will explain the whole process of sponsorship to you.

In keeping with our belief and best practices, we run a food drive in December. We keep a basket in the center of our circle time and ask children to share one snack item in that which goes to children who do not have food to eat. The idea is to give children a concept of “real sharing” and “giving”.

CHRISTMAS PRESENT
Our children are excited to make Christmas present for their parents, they are lovingly decorating it. shh…! its a secret, we are sure parents you will love this useful gift.

LESSON PLAN FOR THE MONTH
Formal learning takes a slower pace in the month of December because there is so much excitement in the air about SANTA and presents decorating Christmas tree at home and at the daycare thus all our activities and talk revolve around “Christmas wish and presents”
Our kindergartners are more charged with Christmas they learn new songs and want to share and teach younger kids when they come back from school. Keeping in line with children’s interest we incorporate learning in play and teach them accordingly.
Our youngest generation are amazed and feel the enthusiasm and rejoice with older children.
WELCOME TO EMAN HODZIC:
Eman will be re-joining Beyond Care Child Centre starting December.  Eman we missed you when you were away but we are very happy to have you back in our care. We thank Eman’s parents for their continuous trust in us.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

A very happy birthday to our kindergartner – Camila who will turn 6 this year.

HOUSEKEEPING:
Parents please send extra change of clothes for your child especially if they are toilet training, we request parents to give a good supply of undies, pants and socks.
WE ALSO ASK PARENS TO PLEASE GIVE PLASTIC BAGS FOR SOILED DIAPERS AND CLOLTHES.
If your child is diapering, please keep a constant supply of diapers and wet wipes with us. We prefer to use only the supply that parents send from home to avoid any skin irritation to your child.

WINTER WEAR
With the changing weather, parents please send winter jacket and boots and hats so that children stay warm when they play outdoors. Please label your child’s belonging specially, rain jacket, rain boots, hats etc. to prevent loss.

Children’s artwork and academic work are sent home every Friday.  Please check your child’s bag packs or lunch bags to appreciate task completed in the class.
We request parents to please send gym shoes that have Velcro closing.  We strictly discourage lace shoes to avoid tripping in the playground
